Thigh lift : for whom ?
The inner thigh lift is realized when the skin of the inner thigh is too distended.
During ageing or weight change, the skin on this part of the body is distended leaving bumps, hollows and stretch marks
Thus, thigh lift is performed when there is a sagging skin due to :
-
Ageing
-
Significant weight variations (pregnancies, obesity, repeated diets,...)
-
Poor adaptation of the skin envelope after the liposuction of the thighs
Thigh lift : the surgical technique
Thigh lift lasts between one and two hours, it is realized under general anesthesia and after a detailed medical exam.
This procedure can be associated with liposuction
The surgeon can perform three methods :
The vertical incision
-
The surgeon treats the width of the thigh.
-
The scar is then vertical, at the level of the inner thigh and can be limited in the upper thigh which makes it very discreet.
-
If the excess of skin is significant, the scar will be at the level of the knee.
The horizontal incision
-
The surgeon pulls the skin up.
-
The incision starts from the fold of the groin to progress to the upper part of the inner thigh and ends at the buttock fold back.
The mixed technique
Horizontal and vertical techniques are combined to redrape the inner thigh skin as much as possible
The scar will then have an inverted L-shape or T-shape
Thigh lift : the postoperative phases
Edema and bruising may appear in the treated area and will disappear within ten to twenty days.
The surgeon prescribes to the patient analgesics so as to relieve pain.
A rest of three weeks is highly recommended.
Do not expose the scar to the sun or UV rays.
Thigh lift : the results
The result is immediately appreciated, but it is advisable to delay six to twelve months to observe and assess the final result.
The results of a thigh lift are satisfactory.
